Cold water immersion has a lot of benefits! Those with anxiety can greatly benefit from putting cold water on their face or on the back of their neck. The effects are immediate and can stop a panic attack. Cold water immersion was also found to help with depression. #SUsocialwork https://t.co/vmXbZw9Fs4
@gail_vaught I love this! People do not choose to suffer, if they could stop their depressive tendencies, then they would; just like how a diabetic would not be diabetic if they could make that choice. #SUsocialwork
Depression can be as debilitating as a physical illness. Those with depression feel hopeless and need someone to help them get out of their negative thought cycle. Saying, "I am here," and listening to this person can greatly help. #SUsocialwork https://t.co/cvSsX133vB
@mhtodaymag for me depression is like ivy. you only relise the extent of it when your covered in the stuff. What helps? the person who offers you the gardens tools to trim it back and make it liveable again.
@laurenkaybee Great post! I am sure children get embarrassed and upset in front of their peers when they struggle to understand a concept, which can make them resort to anger and then the teacher perceives the student as disinterested in learning. #SUsocialwork
Now the Boston Marathon is "publicly acknowledging that transgender runners can compete using the gender they identify with."

It is important to remember everyone struggles with something. It is easy to look at someone and think "wow they make a lot of money," or "they have a great life," but for every good thing you see a person typically deals with 4 bad #Susocialwork. https://t.co/xm6y24nMmG
@laurenkaybee @Shareaholic Thanks for sharing that great article! That was very interesting; the mind and body are very connected and long term effects of trauma can be detrimental to a person's health. #Susocialwork
@amy_hull5 Yes, I definitely believe that. Feeling loved makes a big difference, especially for a child because early relationships impact later ones. #Susocialwork
It is very surprising how many students are struggling with anxiety and depression in college. It make sense since college is a big transition from living at home with increased priorities and demands. Students hide these feelings very well. #susocialwork https://t.co/d3XErIuqWW
@A_eldridge5 Bullying can be very damaging to children and I believe it can make or break their future confidence. I think reporting bulling to parents should definitely be required #susocialwork
@lizdpetro I definitely agree with this. This reminds me how sadness is usually expressed as anger because anger is a less vulnerable emotion than sadness. #SUsocialwork
