So here we go. Long term care is one of the most highly regulated Healthcare systems. Keep adding regulations, but did you know that governing bodies haven't raised the PRD in decades? Meaning do more with the same amount of staff since 1970. Patients are sicker and live longer.

So I want the world to know what it is we deal with on a daily basis. Provide some education and information. Of course I can only speak for the state I live in, but I'm sure it doesn't differ too much.

Long term care nurse here. The system sucks. Ltc is set up to fail, especially in the face of the pandemic. People give ltc a bad name, but if you understood what we are tasked with and the resources in which we have, you would be outraged.
