@AnnieIsNotFkOk @IRSnews I know that and it is ridiculous to do. July and August went through to our joint bank account of 5 years, we have filed jointly for 8 years. I changed nothing but the IRS, system, or Tom in IT changed something and now I have to fix stuff.

@IRSnews This month's CHILD TAX CREDIT, if distributed the same way as September will be $137 to me and then $137 to my husband who I have filed jointly with for all 8 years of our marriage. The system, staff, whatever was too confused to pay one direct deposit payment in Sept

as it did in July and August. But the same staff, system, whatever is smart and quick enough to correct the overpayment and fix the payment to $137 each. So November and December will be reduced as well to get back the $76 overpayment. 137/125/125 if split again

@IRSnews do we need to opt-out of the CHILD TAX CREDIT individually, my husband and I since you sent us two separate payments? One to our joint bank account but then one to my husband alone even though we have always filed jointly.

@IRSnews so both my husband and I would need to opt-out by Oct 4th if we did not want the CHILD TAX CREDIT since a change to our joint banking on our joint return prompted a late and reduced payemnt??

@EricKopp21 @IRSnews We got the rest of the CHILD TAX CREDIT a check made out to my husband for $188 as well. So that is more than the $300 we are supposed to get. Tax returns and the remaining CHILD TAX CREDIT months are going to be screwed up.

@EricKopp21 @OverdoneOrange0 @C_21_sutton @IRSnews I am waiting to see if my husband gets something in the mail. Only $188 of the CHILD TAX CREDIT came direct deposit this month. I am not going to set up an IRS account for him we did not before and got the last two months' direct deposit no issue.

and I got both July and August CHILD TAX CREDIT payments with no issue but September came late and short. You give us the reason for this is because changes were made you told everyone they could make. Stop with the lies and excuses. The system is broken folks beyond repair now

This is exhausting to continue to read articles like this @IRSnews , @POTUS , under the instruction of the IRS you could go onto the portal and update information. I did back in July
