@ohevie As a hiring manager I’ve read them and often first, before resume. It really depends on the field, org and function. Folks should definitely not assume that HR folks no longer read them. Also a good way to show writing skills.
My son wrote an essay about how much he hates mayonnaise, and it begins, "As a scribe I see fit to write down all my troubles" and ends "I fell to the ground and moaned for the next few hours, lying in the moonlight wishing to die."
@MindaHarts Does it count if you want folks to stop using the word, sit it in a corner and think about what they did wrong until they can use it again? I’m tired of overuse of the word empathy. I hate how it’s a buzzword now.
@MelissaObleada I really wish it was, but I remind myself and others that it’s not. Keeping masks and tests stocked in my first aid/vitamin/health ish random stuff I can’t think another place to put it. Use them regularly. Be well and miss you both!!
When people talk about Boston being revitalized, BIPOC artists are always at the core of the narrative. Except they are still not resourced enough to live here.
