I understand what you mean. I believe there's a difference between genuinely helping people reach their potential and exploiting them. Great professionals inspire others to grow while maintaining integrity. I think the key lies in how they use their influence and whether they truly care about the people they help.
Excessive maxillary exposure, resulting in a severely uneven smile. While jaw surgery was one potential corrective option, we achieved a truly stunning transformation using only porcelain crowns and veneers no surgery required! 🤩

@DrDadBuilder@FixnBones Park City sounds like a beautiful place, and owning a house in Keystone must be fantastic. So I really appreciate your sense of humor! I hope you and your daughter can make this trip happen someday. What's your favorite place to stay in the mountains?
@DoctorCliffyy@Babar1B This sounds like an extremely demanding job; I can imagine how challenging it must be to frequently deal with surgical complications and hemorrhaging. I am well aware of the importance of precision and teamwork in medicine. It will be highly meaningful work.
This week I start as Professor and Vice Chair for Research at @UMassNeuroSurg! Grateful to my colleagues, trainees, and patients at Stanford and the Palo Alto VA, and excited for what's next in Worcester. #MDPhDLife
@aMeaysZy@bilalfarooqui I find the economic issues in the healthcare sector to be truly intriguing. Medicine is one of the few fields where economic incentives can come into direct conflict with patient treatment outcomes.
That is indeed the case. Improving access to healthcare services, increasing the time spent communicating with patients, and providing effective incentives can have a substantial impact on enhancing health outcomes. Preventive efforts and patient-centered care should always be prioritized.
Your teeth aren’t stubborn you’re simply working against the laws of biology.
Teeth whitening does work but only when the nature of the stains, the condition of your enamel, and the whitening product used are all perfectly aligned.
Wow! 😍 We started with clear aligner therapy going through about four rounds of refinementsa nd added two porcelain veneers to the lateral incisors. Along the way, one of her lower molars even split in half during her second trimester of pregnancy but look at the result now! It has been such a joy to accompany this patient on her orthodontic journey. We had actually considered placing porcelain veneers on the front teeth for aesthetic reasons, but the dental lab achieved such a natural, beautiful outcome that I’m so glad we decided against it! 🎉🥰
No one can serve more than one master.
Physicians are employed by hospital systems.
Paid by third parties.
And ultimately responsible to their patients.
Three competing interests.
Only one should determine the medical decisions we make.
The patient.
We need to remove the other two from the physician-patient relationship.
The difference is indeed quite significant, and the situation varies from state to state. The healthcare industry also presents a similar situation salary differences can be substantial depending on the region, specialty, and contract type. Do you think the biggest factor influencing salary right now is region or professional demand?
@DrJasonBegalke,I couldn’t agree more. Physician burnout is not merely a workforce issue; it directly impacts patient safety and the quality of care. The field of medicine has undergone profound changes, yet some long-standing expectations regarding working hours have failed to evolve accordingly. I’d like to ask what, in your view, are the most practical and feasible changes that hospitals could implement to address this problem?
From my vantage point as CEO and as a @UofUHealth neurosurgeon who appreciates the care we render in the operating room, I enjoyed hearing about our @UofUSurgery department’s progress at today’s State of the Department.
Proud of what these teams accomplished this year and excited about what’s ahead. Congratulations to department chair Fiemu Nwariaku, MD, MBA, FACS, and the entire team!

When my son was born, I did not agree to the vaccine schedule, especially Hep B.
Fast forward to his one month pediatrician appointment, I got pressed again.
I refused, citing the Japanese vaccine schedule.
The doctor condescendingly told me he had a medical degree and that I had a degree in Facebook Mom forums. Meanwhile, he couldn't articulate a single justification for his strong recommendations, which were more like demands, because he would refuse to see my child unless I agreed to his Big Pharma endorsed vaccine schedule.
I noted that he weighed more than 200 pounds, and I would not be taking health advice from an obese physician.
Haven't seen him since.
Attended a medical meeting recently and ran into an old colleague. Respected surgeon well into his late 70’s, still seeing patients several days a week in his private practice.
His son had joined him after residency over a decade ago. I asked how his son was doing.
“He is doing great! He left me and is working remotely by himself doing longevity medicine, no office, no surgery, loves it”.
One less surgeon. One more wasted residency.
America’s medical system is broken. Intelligent and ambitious doctors are finding greater reward and satisfaction pursuing alternative paths.
Cosmetic and reconstructive surgery might sound like two completely different things, but there’s actually a lot of overlap. Dr. Steve Laverson breaks down why understanding normal form, function, and aesthetics matters in both. It’s all about creating results that still feel natural to you. 🤍
