Former St. Louis Cardinals pitcher John Gant took home the CPBL MVP today. He nearly broke the CPBL all-time ERA record and had a 1.49 ERA with 136 strikeouts in 133 1/3 innings for the Wei Chuan Dragons
Today, I opened the annual Berlin Security Conference #BSC2026.
My message is clear: European security begins in Ukraine. We must increase support for Ukraine, strengthen Allied defencecapabilities, expand the defence industry and increase pressure on Russia.
Time is not on our side. Russia’s aggressive and revisionist policy will not stop on its own. It can only be stopped by our unity, political resolve and military capabilities.
Brewers RF Sal Frelick shared a heartfelt message on Instagram today👇
“I didn’t know it was possible to fall in love with a city, until I became a Brewer. I’ve never been prouder to put a jersey on and I’ve never wanted anything more in my life than to give this fanbase a World Championship.”
Norway will not play against Russia at the 2027 World Championship, based on the current situation and the information available today.
Read the full statement from the Norwegian Ice Hockey Association:
Finland, the reigning world champion, has announced that it will refuse to play against Russia at the Ice Hockey World Championships as long as Russia's invasion of Ukraine continues.
Finland is now working with other Nordic and major European hockey nations to form a united boycott front.
If enough countries join, holding the tournament with Russia participating could become impossible.
Meanwhile, Germany is considering withdrawing as host of the 2027 World Championships if Russia is allowed to compete.
The least-utilized awesome cue in BB/SB is, "Find out."
Can you leg out the double/triple.
Steal the base?
Go 1st to 3rd?
1st or 2nd to home?
Can they stop you?
Find out, before you limit yourself. Make them prove they can do their jobs, first.
Mozart called it “a little piano sonata for beginners,” yet it became one of his most beloved works. Composed in 1788, Piano Sonata No. 16 in C major reminds us that true genius can make simplicity sound extraordinary. Enjoy this performance by Daniel Barenboim. 🎹
POV: You were born to a country wiped from maps, whose freedom was long considered a lost cause by much of the world, and you grow up to see your country assume the Presidency of the United Nations Security Council (starting midnight tonight).
Congratulations all Latvians for your long journey here.
Now more than ever, we need world leadership that stands up for international law, a better rules-based order, peace through strength, and the sovereignty of all nations.
🇫🇮🇷🇺 FINLAND SHUTS THE DOOR ON NORMAL RELATIONS WITH PUTIN’S RUSSIA
Finnish Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen has made Helsinki’s position unmistakable: Finland will not restore political ties with Moscow or act as a mediator in Russia’s war against Ukraine.
“We are and will remain on the side of Ukraine.”
Valtonen stressed that Russia started the war and could end it immediately, but continues to escalate instead.
She also wants Europe to tighten restrictions on Russian visitors, including former combatants and tourists, arguing that ordinary travel cannot be treated as business as usual while Ukrainian civilians face nightly attacks.
“Russia keeps people awake and kills families in their homes. Russians visiting European beaches can’t be happening.”
The EU has already adopted another sanctions package and is preparing further measures, with Finland pushing for additional pressure.
Yet Valtonen also defended diplomatic engagement aimed at ending the fighting. She said a recent call with Putin followed talks in Oslo and was coordinated with Ukraine and the United States.
Her position draws a distinction between negotiating to end the war and restoring normal relations with the country that launched it.
Finland is prepared to support diplomacy, but not at the expense of Ukraine’s sovereignty or its own policy toward Moscow.
