👏🏆🎉
Great way to end the school year with the FAMILY. We had blind folded obstacle courses, two ball carry relays, Candy salad, and to end it lip sing-dance battle. They are a true blessing to the program.

Kara Lawson said, "The goal of any practice or the goal of any game is to touch perfection as many times as possible."
"There are moments of perfection within any performance, there can be."
Excellence isn't about being perfect.
It's about chasing it - every single rep
Cori Close (@CoachCoriClose) shares a must-listen message on what it takes to be special.
"Do you want special? Then you better get used to hard."
"Tell me one person in this life, in any area of life, that did something special that didn't embrace hard. That didn't embrace the adversity."
Success is earned in the struggle.
"It's the people who embrace hard. Perseverance. All of those things that need to happen."
Then she got honest about her own leadership:
"Get ready to push that. Get ready to take that on for your players first so that they can see the role modeling of someone who faces hard, who embraces hard."
Leaders go first.
You can't ask your team to embrace hard if you're not willing to do it yourself.
You have to be willing to embrace adversity.
Adversity isn't a roadblock - it's the path.

"If you wanna earn toughness, you have to learn to embrace the hard.
We call it 'The Edge' - when your talent runs out and you are forced to develop a new level of discipline, toughness, and skill."
Earn the right to be more than talented.
Gifted is common.
Gritty is rare.
Kelvin Sampson shares a powerful locker room message on humility, toughness, and the climb.
"Always look at what can we do better. And don't ever lose sight of how important humility is."
"Humility. 'Cause life will humble you. Once you start to think you've got it made..."
Then he gave them the visual:
"There's 2 ways to look at a mountain. You're either climbing a mountain or you think you've arrived."
"Fellas, we're still climbing a mountain. We're still climbing that mountain now. This shit ain't over until sometime in March or early April."
You can't be complacent. The moment you think you've arrived is the moment you stop climbing.
"We have the kind of team to go far. That's why I coach you the way I coach you."
"Remember I said, 'Choose between good or great.' Make a choice."
Then he connected the dots:
"We won this game on those 100-yard sprints at 7:00 in the morning in the football stadium."
"Don't lose sight of why we do this stuff, fellas. It prepares you mentally."
The uncomfortable work is what prepares you for the setbacks, mistakes, and missteps.
You win games in the offseason with how you decide to show up and work.
It means work with humility and know the climb never stops.

Underrated coaching truth:
The best coaches aren’t obsessed with talent.
They’re obsessed with effort.
With attitude.
With toughness.
That’s what wins when it gets hard.
