@ItsOhBea I know for me personally it just doesn’t feel like my name anymore. So when people use it I often feel like they’re referring to a stranger. I’m not sure if that will ever go away but I’ve found that it’s not as stabbing as it was in the beginning.

@ItsOhBea I think there might always be that twinge of discomfort hearing or seeing it just because it has a lot of dysphoric feelings attached to it. Since a name change is often on of the first things a non cis person often changes and names are important to non cis people.

@ItsOhBea That being said I think over time and the more acceptance you get in your life will mean that the discomfort will lessen. Especially if you meet great people with that name and start associating it outside of yourself.
