Hours after the ceasefire started, many displaced families began their journey back home, cautiously longing for lasting stability.
Others remain in displacement, waiting for more clarity on how the situation evolves.

Grateful to Prime Minister H.E. @nawafsalam@grandserail for the strong leadership in
this response.
With over one million displaced, support to Lebanon is urgent, and must be sustained.
Just arrived in Beirut after last week’s devastating strikes. Over 1 million people displaced in this small country. I am here in solidarity —and to urgently push for protection of civilians and an end to this spiraling conflict.
Around 100 Israeli strikes without prior warning hit Lebanon in under 10 minutes.
Civilians are bearing the brunt including in Beirut neighbourhoods sheltering those already displaced.
It cannot be said enough: civilians are not a target. They must be protected.
One of the largest waves of Israeli strikes so far has just hit over 60 locations across Beirut and beyond.
Deaths are mounting. Destruction is massive. Civilians are paying the price. Again.
They are not a target. They must be protected.
Humanitarian aid is on the move ✈️
Together with 🇪🇺 @eu_echo, 🇮🇹 @ItalyMFA_int and 🇮🇪@Irish_Aid, we have launched an emergency airbridge delivering life-saving relief to support the growing number of displaced families across Lebanon.
Urgent needs. United response.
Lebanon has been struck with loss, suffering and destruction once again.
Our colleague Dalal shares her message to the world from her home.
“Please don’t look away. People here need support. But more than anything, they need peace”
I have two clear messages:
First, to the United States & Israel:
It’s high time to end this war that is risking to get out of control, causing immense suffering on civilians, with dramatic effects on the global economy & potentially tragic consequences, especially for the least developed countries.
Second, my message to Iran:
Stop attacking your neighbors, they were never parties to the conflict.
The Security Council has condemned these attacks, has ordered them to stop, as it has order to open the Strait of Hormuz.
The prolonged closure of the Strait of Hormuz causes enormous pain for so many people around the world who have nothing to do with this conflict.
It’s time for the force of the law to prevail over the law of the force.
It’s time for diplomacy to prevail over war.

Today, areas in Beirut where many people had fled to seek safety have been struck.
Even in displacement, people are not safe.
Civilians are not a target. They must be protected at all times.
Over 1 million people are now displaced in Lebanon as families flee continued Israeli strikes and evacuation warnings.
Shelters are filling up, resources are running low and humanitarian needs are rising rapidly.
Please help if you can: https://t.co/3GdJzw1Kwf

I have just landed in Beirut for a visit of solidarity with the people of Lebanon.
They did not choose this war. They were dragged into it.
The @UN & I will spare no effort in striving for the peaceful future that Lebanon & this region so richly deserve.
“The humanitarian needs are immense at the moment and are growing by the minute.”

Under the leadership of the Government of Lebanon, a total of 16 displaced Lebanese families have benefited from core relief items distributed by UNHCR.
Continued support for displaced families remains essential.
