The Becoming is still FREE at all major ebook retailers, and for a limited time, Ground Zero, book two in the series, is now only $2.99! You can find more info about the books in my critically acclaimed post-apocalyptic series here: https://t.co/oEFRs4qIkV
@asthegirlturns I've lived in Alabama my entire life. I've visited other states and other countries, and I genuinely can't imagine living anywhere else.
@walterkirn I have a friend who posted last night that the whole thing was “sus.” I have a pretty high tolerance for this sort of thing (I mean, I work in publishing), but man, the eye roll I let out was fairly painful.
He got his license suspended in Florida and Alabama after the death of Bill Bryan, but--and I'd like to emphasize this--he was still practicing medicine for the military, because apparently the military doesn't cross-check civilian databases for license suspensions (or something to that effect) and he failed to report any of this to the folks who made the bad decision to hire him.
@TheSpiciestLRQ I read the depositions from everyone else in the OR for the civil suit that the family's filed. It goes into a LOT of detail in the depos.
IKR? Just off the top of my head, the so-called doctor lacerated his inferior vena cava with a scalpel, then started blindly stapling around in there, while the patient started coding, then while everyone else in the OR was trying to save the man's life, he kept digging around in the man's abdomen and cut out his liver, then insisted to everyone in the room who was looking horrified at the liver and going, "That's a liver," that it was actually the spleen and that it somehow was so enlarged that it rivaled the size of a liver (legitimately impossible) and that it had somehow managed to migrate to the complete opposite side of the body from where the spleen is located.
And that's not the first patient he's effed up with, either. He killed another patient when he perforated their bowel during a gallbladder removal, and with a third patient, he removed part of the patient's pancreas instead of the adrenal gland he was supposed to be removing.
ADHD is a malfunctioning priority filter where your brain decides that researching the evolutionary history of the domestic cat is a "Tier 1 Emergency," while the life-altering deadline you have in three hours is merely a "vague suggestion" from a stranger you’ve never met.
I’ve been largely silent online lately because I’ve been working on book seven in my post-apocalyptic series.
I have a newfound respect for writers (of books and TV and movies) who write those villains that you love to hate. Because damn, that’s harder than you’d think.
@Vossvik7 Here's a photo of him (the b&w one). His government name is Leopold Butters Stotch the Professor of Chaos. (The gray cat is Leeloo Dallas Multipass.)
They can. Not long after I got diagnosed with diabetes and we were still trying to get my meds right, my cat woke me up in the middle of the night by pawing frantically at my face and headbutting me. I woke up and felt weird/woozy, checked my sugar, and it was in the 40s, so I got up and ate something. He kept pacing on my bed the whole time I was eating a snack and wouldn't calm down until I quit shaking from low sugar.
@CompanyHooch@armondboudreaux That was my thought, but normally don't those have to be set up and actually started from apps and such on your phone? My car (a Hyundai Tucson) has an app that I go on to set the temperature, seat warmers, defrosters, etc., before I remote start.
@monsterhunter45 I’m working on novel #12. Would be great if, instead of these folks lecturing and haranguing and standing on dilapidated soapboxes, they’d go out and support the creatives that actually already exist that they ignore in order to grandstand.
@Jennifer_Estep Yeah I’ve been working with their parent company (Entangled) since 2017. They’re a great company full of great people, and I love working with them.
BREAKING:
3 Doors Down have announced the passing of their founder, lead singer, and songwriter Brad Arnold, who died peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, February 7, at the age of 47 following a battle with cancer.
Arnold was a founding member and a defining voice of early 2000s mainstream rock, best known for writing the band’s breakthrough hit “Kryptonite” at just 15 years old. His songwriting helped shape a generation, blending emotional honesty with radio-defining rock anthems.
He is survived by his wife Jennifer and family. The band and family have asked for privacy during this difficult time.
🖤 Rest in peace, Brad Arnold. Your music and legacy will live on. #3doorsdown
