UPDATE: I've determined the first to be a Wilson's / Black-capped Warbler and the second to be a female Common Yellowthroat
The first is a #lifer for sure
Warbler ID question: These terrible pics are of a few birds w/in a larger mixed flock, foraging in leaf litter and low understory veg. 1st: Wilson's or fall/imm Hooded? 2nd: F Common Yellowthroat or Mourning... I hope? Thanks for any help! ๐ #birding#BirdTwitter#Migration
Thanks to the @DrBirdCast - I checked the BirdCast radar and saw it was a good day to go out- left having seen a bunch of new lifers! Not the best pics, but happy to add the Blue-Throated Blue Warbler & Northern Parula to our lists!

This male sumatran orangutan is Raku: he got a wound on his right cheek. Scientists were surprised to spot him applying a medicinal plant on his face: akar kuning (Fibranaurea tinctoria), a type of climbing vine that acts as an analgesic.
After about 8 days he applied the chewed stems and leaves of the plant, the wound began to heal and in approximately a month he completely recovered.
This series of observations undoubtedly constitutes the conclusive proof of the level of ingenuity that these majestic animals have.
I forgot to mention that @Melchio1Olivier โsaw it firstโ (as usualโฆ he never forgets to announce when heโs spotted something before I have ๐ค๐คญ)
Green-throated Carib last nightโฆ it landed right in front of us and proceeded to preen for at least 2-3 minutes! It kept one eye on us before zipping off to load up on nectar.

@DunrobinOntario Congrats on the lifer! Looks like your ID has already been confirmed on here, but I was going to say that in French their name translates to โdouble collaredโ- thatโs how I always remember the Kildeer if Iโm in doubt or in the absence of other identifying factors
