@lavundur The LA show was actually a really fun concert. They moved everyone closer to fill up the seats. The balcony wasn’t used at all. Everyone was enthusiastic and it didn’t seem empty at all.
@yeondelrey I agree with you about the smaller hall w Chuu, but just want to mention, ARTMS is in the same Los Angeles venue as Chuu next month and they’ve sold most of the tickets.
@lavundur As someone who will attend the LA show, its painful to have to sit at the back of an empty theater because the other seats are so expensive. I hope the venue is cool about us moving closer.
#1 - Melanie Martinez - Void - This song has such a groove. To me, its about the desperate desire to break free from the monotony of daily live. She has such a versatile voice and she experimented with different vocal styles on this album to great effect.

#2 - Sufjan Stevens - A Running Start - I love the way this song slowly builds... at 2:47 it becomes a rising percussive instrumental... until the explosion of vocal joy at 3:17

#3 - Olivia Rodrigo - Love is Embarrassing - I love the jump between "It don't" and "mean a thing!" in the chorus... also her unhinged voice at 1:44

#4 - Slowdive - Kisses - I went through a big Slowdive phase in the '00s and its nice to have a new album from them. This was my favorite song. The part at 1:30 just makes me melt every time.

#5 - Alan Walker - Hero - A beautiful melody that feels familiar. Of course, as happens with this kind of song, it builds to a satisfying bass drop.

#6 - Oliver Tree - One and Only - This bizarre music video was playing at my gym with the sound down. Afterwards, I had to find the song that went with the strange images. (Is it based on Matrix 2?)

#7 - Lana Del Rey - Paris, Texas - My understanding is that Lana Del Rey took the music from SYML and did a topline for it? Her voice and the music work well together. I saw the Paris Texas movie and this song fits.

#8 - Zeph - Character Development - I loved this album, and struggled with which song to pick. Zeph is such a good songwriter. I love the rhythm of her voice in the chorus.

#9 - Carly Rae Jepsen - After Last Night - The music is so quick and staccato under her voice. Every now and then, it slows for her, but only for a few measures before returning to its previous frenetic pace.
