Roses practice. I'm trying to train my eyes to recognize large areas of light&shadow while leaving unnecessary details to capture the essence of the subject. I kept forgetting which layer or peddle I am on, lol. It turns out much better than the last!

Day 39 #100dayofpainting first attempt to paint flowers without much details. It didn’t turn out as I would like to. The second one about roses is much better. What can I say, practice makes it better. Let’s celebrate it!

Day 31 #100dayofpainting focusing on flower this week. Put down darkest dark, and lightest light. Don’t worry about pushing the dark too dark, it usually still too light. Push strong contrast. Watched a few YouTube on color mixing. Finding correct color comes easier and faster

Day 27 of #100daysofpainting My first attempt at landscape painting! It's challenging to tell color values in different sun and shade. I learned about negative space, layers, softening, and using less saturation in distant objects. The rocks actually look like rocks!

Drawing feet is challenging. I need to consider the proportions of the ankles, heels, and the entire foot. Takes time to observe the photo and break the foot down into different planes to better understand shadows and lights.

It's like reaching into a black box and pulling out something unexpectedly beautiful. I'm the one creating it, and it's such a joy. Not knowing what to expect then seeing it take shape after a few sketches—I guess it’s the feeling in beginner stage, and I love it. Such a treasure
