I think you are asking the wrong question.
For over a hundred years, the US has tacitly allowed illegal border crossings, even as politicians condemn it, because politicians know that many US businesses βΒ especially agribusiness βΒ depend on migrants to do the work that native-born Americans won't do.
At the same time, as US citizens benefit from these migrants, the US government also denies these people of rights. And they make it impossible for these people to actually get "right" with the government. Going from undocumented to documented is extremely difficult. The nuances of this process are not well suited for Twitter because social media is limited to 280 characters. Much depends on the specifics of how you became undocumented. But suffice to say, getting a green card is not easy.
Immigrants, particularly of the undocumented kind, are an easy target for blame when it comes to US politics. Any government failure can be hoisted on them because they are not able to speak for themselves, by virtue of having to live in the shadows. Not enough education funding? Blame immigrants. Your industrial policy hollowed out American manufacturing? Blame immigrants. Housing costs are too high because you've made it difficult to build housing? Again, you can always blame immigrants.
For me, the question is not "why didn't this Mexican father get papers within that 40 years?" The question is, "why does the US government treat immigrants so poorly, blame them for everything, and make it impossible for these people to get right with the government, despite how much they contribute to our society in terms of their labor and taxes?"
I have been liberally blocking people in this thread but wanted to reply to you in earnest, as you appear to be based in South Korea and may be asking innocently.
@dedaPong Plz tell the team we want hooks. I want to hang up my lanterns! We already have them in the game, pls let me use them in my base! (We could also use generators to actually have electric lights in the bases but y'know, at least the lantern hooks first) ππ
@dedaPong Any clue if we are getting lantern hooks for indoor buildings? Or I guess any new indoor lighting element? I am too excited for all of the new things I'll be able to build for 1.0 lol
@dedaPong Hi Tomi! How have the drop ships been received by the community according to the dev team? The server I play on is up in arms about them. Do the mechs they drop have any weak points we can shoot? Personally, I like the risk associated with them, but not the base damage.
@dedaPong And it wouldn't destroy just a few things, it would destroy every single bb element. I think it's been tweaked a little bit now and bb element damage has been turned off, but the spawn still happens very randomly. Either way Im having fun with it!
@dedaPong Thanks for the detailed response! This will be really cool once everything is worked out. It's interesting seeing how private servers are handling these changes. Our server had a mini meltdown bc the attacks seems completely arbitrary, didn't matter if it was a big or small base
