The recent Asbury University revival seems to be one of prayer and repentance, which our nation needs. We can acknowledge these initial steps, respond to students' hunger for more of God, and pray for them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ and receive the Holy Ghost.
We are people of faith. We are saved by faith. We walk by faith. As humans we would much rather walk by sight. But the Bible says, in 4 books, “The just shall live by faith.”
@aimeeamaris Or... both? We should condemn violence and rioting from both sides. Political reasons aside, neither is okay.
White nationalist, black suprematism, BLM, proud boys (who is not white nationalist, but rather a fringe right leaning group), Antifa. Doesn’t matter.
@aimeeamaris Unfortunately hypocrisy runs deep in the church.
But, the church is the only place to find hypocrites as well.
It’s a horrible oxymoron, but one that exists, beyond doubt.
Fortunately though, we serve a righteous God, who will judge.
@aimeeamaris 3. Is an appeal to numbers fallacy, but regardless, as I stated, I’ve never seen it.
And just because people think one way as a majority doesn’t make that majority’s opinion to be true.
Only scripture is true.
Public opinion means nothing in light of scripture
@aimeeamaris 1. Maybe I’ve just been in different locales that see it as pedophilia.
2. That’s correct, but the same could be said of everything, regardless of situation. I never stated it doesn’t happen only that I never have seen it.
@aimeeamaris She lied constantly, made baseless allegations against the current administration, and shirted around questions that should have had a direct answer but she refused.
If that’s being a star, that must be some pretty low standards
@aimeeamaris I have the Apostolic Study Bible and the Premier Study Bible. Both are amazing, but I do prefer the Premier to the ASB.
But it’s personal preference.
@aimeeamaris True, however, an inward heart of holiness will produce an outward show.
Let’s not forget that many of the New Testament authors did include many texts with instruction on outward dress and appearance
As individuals we can participate in politics; as a church we should take a stand on relevant moral issues but don’t promote a partisan political agenda
How about we all make a deal: no downplaying the covid-19 death and hospitalization counts, and no downplaying the dire economic and liberty costs of lockdown. Fair?
@DLoesch You know who else wished death upon those who disagreed with him?
Hitler.
Weird that the left likes to compare every conservative to Hitler, while embodying his ideologies at the same time.
Nothing against nice things but I'll never understand why some Apostolic/Pentecostals have an obsession with material things. Like, why do yall feel the need to buy Gucci purses and belts to wear to CHURCH? It's a sad thing when we make church a fashion show
@aimeeamaris Scripture tells us not to adorn ourselves with costly things in 1 Tim 2:9-10.
It boggles my mind. And this goes for men too... wearing Georgio Armani (or however it’s spelt) when it looks the exact same as cheaper suits.
