Why: Chicago’s bats have been weak, Lugo is the cleanest SP left on the board, and KC’s refreshed bullpen makes the derivative stronger than laying Royals ML.

Pass Mets-Dbacks: under case was there, but 6.5 is too compressed
Pass Rockies-Padres: Colorado lineup/innings path still too unclear

Sorry a little late today..

Only number I really like pregame is Iowa +7.5.
Illinois probably wins, but Iowa takes care of the ball and feels live to keep it close. If it drops to +6.5, I’m good.

Purdue-Arizona feels way more like a live spot than a pregame bet.
At the current number, I’d rather wait and see if Purdue +6.5 pops or if you can grab Arizona cheaper live after a hot Purdue start.

Sweet 16 Friday = patience, not spray-and-play.

Only clear pregame edge: Michigan -9/-9.5. Best path is structural — paint scoring, rebounding, rim protection — against an Alabama team still too dependent on 3s.

Rest of board:
• Duke likely wins, but St. John’s only interesting at +7 or better
• UConn–MSU feels live-only; market already tightened
• Tennessee–Iowa State is injury-sensitive with Jefferson status shaping everything
• Alabama–Michigan total is better attacked live after an early cold stretch

Theme of the slate: don’t confuse better team with better bet. Respect fragile shooting teams, whistle-sensitive favorites, and injury news that changes the game’s actual mechanism.

Thursday Sweet 16 plan:

Purdue-Texas: Wait. Only interested in Purdue at -7 or better. If Texas starts well, look for a better Purdue live number.

Nebraska-Iowa: Nebraska -1.5 pregame. Playable to -2.5.

Arkansas-Arizona: Pass pregame. Look for a live over if the game starts slow and the total drops into the 158.5 range.

Illinois-Houston: Over 140.5 pregame. Playable to 142.5.

Best pregame looks: Nebraska -1.5 and Illinois-Houston over.
