Pew Research Center studies show that more Roman Catholics are leaving the Roman Catholic Religion and becoming Christians than Christians becoming Roman Catholics.

In the United States, Statista reports roughly 14% of people raised Roman Catholic become Christians while only 2% of raised Christian become Roman Catholic.

There are roughly seven times as many converts moving from Roman Catholic paganism to Christianity than vice versa.

This is why the Roman Catholic Religion is desperate in the United States trying to bring in their form of revival by promoting Roman Catholic Paganism.

More Roman Catholics are waking up and leaving the Great Babylon and coming to Christ.

When Roman Catholicism is not just a religion you attend on Sundays, but the fabric of your family history, your social circle, and your community, leaving it requires an immense amount of personal fortitude.

Therefore, only strong Roman Catholics come out of it and become Christians while Weak Christians fall into Roman Catholic paganism.

This post captures why Protestants should pray for the salvation of Roman Catholics.

The danger here is that Rome teaches people to place faith in the Church either ahead of, or functionally equal to, faith in Christ. That is why so many Catholics speak as though salvation depends upon being in communion with Rome rather than being in union with Christ.

And we should be clear: this is not merely the fault of individual Catholics. It flows from the historic teaching of the Roman Catholic Church. Rome teaches that the Church of Rome is necessary for salvation, that the fullness of the Church subsists in the Roman Catholic Church, and that those who knowingly reject that Church place their souls in danger.

Vatican II softened the language in Lumen Gentium, but it did not remove the claim. It veiled it in ecumenical terms while still preserving Rome’s exclusive ecclesiology.

So yes, I pray for Roman Catholics. Not because I think none of them know Christ. I know many who do. But because any system that teaches people to trust the Church as the necessary gatekeeper of salvation has placed something between the sinner and the sufficiency of Jesus Christ.
