We owe £3 trillion. We spend more on working-age benefits than we raise in income tax. Our social security budget is five times our actual security budget. And these two are pretending to be gap-year vloggers in Bangkok.
This is the UK government’s Foreign Secretary and Chancellor of the Exchequer larking around eating Thai snacks while riding a Tuk Tuk around Bangkok. And unfathomably, deciding it was a good idea to post about it on social media.

Bravo this Gentleman for standing his ground
⚠️ Warning this clip comes with a serious trigger warning ‼️
Weeks before a Budget that'll hit every household, the Chancellor's having snacks in a tuk-tuk in Bangkok.
Back home, families are checking the bank app before the weekly shop.
They're not in the same world as us.
What would you say to them if you were sat in the back of that tuk-tuk? 👇
"When does it get funny?!"

A 54 year old man from a Lincolnshire village hit £1.7 MILLION on Betfred blackjack, spent £2,500 celebrating, then was told it was a glitch. Three years later, a High Court judge ruled in his favour.
– Andrew Green was 54 and from a village in Lincolnshire, England.
– Just after midnight on 26 January 2018, he started playing Frankie Dettori's Magic Seven Blackjack on an online platform hosted by Betfred.
– When he stopped, the screen recorded winnings of £1,722,500.24.
– He went out that night with family and friends and spent about £2,500.
– On Monday, Betfred told him the win was so big it had to go to the game provider, Playtech, to be double-checked, which it called standard procedure.
– On Wednesday, Betfred's Russell Young told him Playtech had found a glitch and he couldn't be paid.
– His solicitor says Betfred then offered £60,000 if he signed a non-disclosure agreement.
– He said no.
– Playtech later said the evidence of the glitch was too confidential to share.
– That was the whole problem. The game ran on Betfred's platform, the glitch verdict came from the company that built it, and Betfred decided his win didn't count based on evidence he was never shown.
– A prediction market doesn't work that way. You trade against another person at a price you both agreed to, and your payout comes from the person on the other side, not a house that wrote the game.
– He sued them.
– Betfred argued the dispute should go to a full trial.
– Mrs Justice Foster ruled in Green's favour. That was summary judgment, so there was no full trial.
– She found the terms and conditions couldn't exempt Betfred from paying out on an apparent winning bet.
– Betfred was ordered to pay his winnings plus interest, and it apologised.
– After the ruling, he said: "The last three years have felt like hell on earth."
– He also said the case was a win for everyone in a similar position.
A man saw £1.7 MILLION on his screen, spent £2,500 celebrating, and needed three years and a High Court judge to get it.
Labour with another mad idea that shows they live on another planet.
Skills Minister Jacqui Smith was on @LBC this morning explaining their latest plan. They want to get young people into work by offering unpaid shifts at places like McDonald’s or Burger King.
They stay on Universal Credit the whole time, get a bit extra for travel and a uniform, and somehow this is supposed to get 100,000 of them into jobs. Fantasy stuff.
We all want young people working. Nothing wrong with a job at McDonald’s either. But if they’re sat on benefits, they’re not going to voluntarily give that up for unpaid work at Burger King.
Why would they bother when so many can stay at home, milk the system and earn just as much without the hassle? We need to get much tougher.
They’re clueless. They really are.
@MatthewStadlen Labour is not working! You are a bunch of lying grifters that deliberately twist data to make it better for you. You should be held accountable when deceiving the public.
