@SPD_travels Felt sketchy a month or so back when all the long haul routes were suddenly taken off sale then reinstated. Expect the others will drop too over the remainder of the year.
Will they come back once their shiny A350s arrive?
Norse are up for sale & not looking stable either.
@SPD_travels FR - Fez, Santiago
DY - Billund
LO - Warsaw
BT - Riga (again!)
TG - Bangkok
To me Bangkok should now be a slam dunk. I know they've been 'launching' it for 30 odd years. But there's probably not a better time with the ME carriers on the back foot until there's a peace deal.
@SPD_travels Not great from a load factor perspective I'm sure, but nice to see some other EK types grace the tarmac at MAN.
Cracking to see the rare 200LR frequently deployed too!
@SPD_travels Loads on these previously well patronised services are prob in the gutter. At least EK, QR & EY are maintaining something to MAN.
KU & GF ops to MAN still canx for the foreseeable.
Always a step forward & three back. But at least death & destruction aren't affecting us here.
@SnowWolfy7@SeanM1997 Yes things are very sketchy still, but EK, EY and now QR are ramping up operations, although at reduced frequencies.
This has a start date of Dec. Hopefully it's all quietened down by then.
@blindspotsguy@SPD_travels Think the Gulf states will be very keen to project 'business as usual' when things calm down. The airlines are critical to their success.
May see some aggressive pricing initially to stimulate demand. Plus some travellers have quite short memories if the price is right.
@SPD_travels Maybe because there's not much else headline grabbing to talk about at the minute. Aside from EGYPTAIR and Virgin increases this summer there's not much to shout about at all. Plus IB and BG seem to be winding down their MAN ops.
Hopefully W26 is more positive.
@JediTrini79140 @SeanM1997 Air Algerie have served LHR for many many years and don't appear to be 'bullied' by anyone on the ALG route. The proposed shift of all ops to STN was most likely cost related and with consultation with the diaspora.
Either way they're serving both this summer.
As you were.
@SPD_travels I think the last time AC were year round must have been the 1990s π€·ββοΈ
Great they now have a suitable aircraft to balance modern cabin experience to match winter demand at MAN making it a year round offering.
@dannyholmes84 @BritAviaNews Might be demand tapering off in the summer months. Temps of 46 degrees plus are not uncommon and there are significant pollution issues too. Nice overly pleasant for tourists or visiting friends / relatives alike.
@RichardWithing2@SeanM1997 They tried once in the early 2000s. Ran for a few months only. Loads were reportedly very light. At the time the country had only just emerged from a decade of brutal civil conflict.
It's much safer now. For a tourism boost, the current visa regime needs to be liberalised.
