@RickC519@damienwoody Yup. Depends on who you like. I wanted no part of Baker because his personality sucks and it would have been a nightmare in nyc with the media here.
In Cleveland, nobody cares. You can be an unlikeable douche in a small market. Here it would be Rex Ryan 2.0 high drama 24/7.
@Paulie_Bruz @TMitch64 Don’t fault the kid. It’s what they are all taught at this level in our schools: Competition doesn’t matter. Everyone is equal, especially when they aren’t. Be happy for the other guy. Everyone gets a cookie a hug and a trophy.
I wish @CNN gave that 17-year-old Trump supporter the same benefit of the doubt they gave their own anchor when he threatened to throw a Trump supporter down the steps. @realDonaldTrump is 100% right about the broken and ideologically biased media.
@Pirateslife18 Just like Dave Rothenberg & the vaGiants. These nerds think that being a neurotic tool is the only way to go about being a fan. Yeah, we all live & die w our teams. But none of us play, affect outcomes, or matter at all to the guys involved. So enjoy it & all. But learn to chill.
Start of a good discussion thread happening .
What’s your take on the CB situation for the NYJ? Is CB a declining value position in the NFL now? Is OL > CB? Join the convo here:
The “dire” CB position https://t.co/aVg4zMSznu
@jetswhispers Do you not know how the ny media narrative works here? Giants could take a huge shit on the 50 yard line and the commentary tomorrow would be about how great the consistency of the turd was.
The first day I met @nyjets GM Joe Douglas and talked ball with him, I knew I agreed with his philosophy regarding how to build a team..and it starts up front..if you can’t block the other team, you have no shot..
And over the last week, it’s easy to see how he prioritizes the OL
@DrewfromJersey @NYJ1979 That’s fine. He’s fighting against the hard financial realities of his position. He is a declining asset regardless. His prime years are 22-28. After that he’s an “old” back. Nobody is paying big money to an old back. The opportunity cost of him missing last year was 15 Million.
@NYJ1979 @DrewfromJersey Not so much a win as he proved his point. Get your guaranteed dollars bc you will likely never see the end of the contract at that position. He won that point at a great personal and financial cost.
@NYJ1979 @DrewfromJersey Lev didn’t quite “win” tho. He had an offer, sat out, & then got less total $ in FA. He did get more guaranteed $ tho, so in that sense he won. But assuming healthy, he also burned 1 of the few yrs of potential earnings he had & took less total comp than was originally offered.>>
