I’ve heard many reports of Sean Feucht using other people’s ministry work to fund raise for his own ministry. Here’s a current example.
I checked Feucht’s donation page and he is in fact taking in all the money and donor info (which is a big deal) through his own ministry.
The Apostles Teach Us How to Read the Old Testament
“The Old Testament should just be read literally.”
Yes, according to what the text actually means. But the apostles show us that promises, shadows, types, and covenants ultimately find their fulfillment in Christ.
“The land promises were unconditional.”
Yet Paul says Abraham was heir of the world through the righteousness of faith (Rom. 4:13), and Hebrews points Abraham beyond Canaan to a heavenly country (Heb. 11:10, 13–16).
“Israel always means ethnic Israel.”
Yet Paul says, “they are not all Israel, which are of Israel” (Rom. 9:6), and identifies Abraham’s children according to promise rather than mere flesh (Gal. 3:7, 29).
“The temple must be rebuilt for prophecy to be fulfilled.”
Yet the apostles identify Christ as the true temple and His people as God’s dwelling place (John 2:19–21; Eph. 2:19–22; 1 Pet. 2:5).
“But God promised David an everlasting throne.”
And Peter says that promise was fulfilled in the resurrection and exaltation of Christ (Acts 2:29–36).
“Does that mean the Old Testament promises were spiritualized away?”
No. It means they were fulfilled in something greater than the shadows anticipated. Christ is not a reduction of the promises. He is their substance.
This is how the apostles read the Old Testament.
They did not read Moses, the Prophets, and the Psalms as separate from Christ. They understood them through Christ.
“And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.” Luke 24:27
The safest way to interpret the Old Testament is not to impose a modern system upon it.
Read it the way Jesus and His apostles taught us to read it.
Christ is the center.
Admittedly, I am no biblical scholar.
I have very little memorized, & I struggle to understand at times...
So when things like this are pointed out to me, I immediately go back and have a look.
God is amazing.
Jesus is King.
