Inflation kills governments. This inflation was a supply side shock. How could you deal with it? Price controls, but they dont work. Very bleak but Nixon/Biden era are great opposites. Nixon tried to calm inflation with price controls, fucked the economy, but people were happy!

It’s the first time since this data was first recorded in 1905. Essentially the first time in the history of democracy (universal suffrage began in 1894).

bad things are going to happen but they are going to happen in the future (see trump rollback of pork plant regulations in 2019 and then the pork listeria outbreak this year) and the voters will not blame the GOP
