We were delighted to welcome H.E. Ambassador Asta Radikaitė of Lithuania to Leeds on Sunday 🇱🇹
Discussions with Leeds Jewish community members focused on shared Litvak heritage and future collaboration, with plans for events in Leeds.
Following the Home Secretary's statement today and the publication of the HMIC report, we join the @BoardofDeputies in calling for West Midlands Police Chief Constable Craig Guildford to resign or be removed by the PCC
We are devastated to hear reports of a shooting attack at Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia, with multiple fatalities at a Jewish Hanukkah event.
While details emerge, we have been in touch with our Australian partners at the Executive Council of Australian Jewry to express our solidarity and offer our support.
We have also been in touch with the UK Government, who are monitoring the situation closely, to discuss the UK response.
The scourges of terrorism and antisemitism are shared, international challenges and need concerted and determined action to defeat them.
Alongside @JewishLeeds and @CST_UK, we had the opportunity to meet the Chancellor @RachelReevesMP where we discussed what she can do, especially as a Leeds MP to support the community in the wake of the Heaton Park terror attack.
“We are gravely concerned that our governments’ announced intentions to recognise a Palestinian state at the UN this month are seen by Hamas as a reward for its violence and rejectionism towards Israel, and these announcements have therefore lessened rather than maximised pressure for the hostages’ release and for Hamas to disarm.”

Powerful gathering yesterday in Millennium Square as our city came together to stand united against antisemitism. Thank you to all our speakers, faith leaders and community partners for their support and solidarity.
It is utterly shocking for such an antisemitic and extreme speech to be made openly on the streets of a British city. To hear the crowd cheering when Dr Aladwan said that the Jewish community must be ‘held to account’ was chilling, as was her blatant support for the use of violence to destroy Israel. The police and local authorities need to ensure that this kind of outright hatred is not allowed to happen with impunity.
Our reaction to the UK Government announcement about potential recognition of a Palestinian State in September.
