Israel commemorates the 78th anniversary of the #Farhud – the deadly #Nazi-inspired pogrom by Iraqis against #Iraq's🇮🇶 Jewish community.
180 Jews were murdered, over 2,000 were injured & thousands of Jewish homes & businesses were destroyed & looted.
We Remember 🇮🇱🕯️
Today #Israel marks #JerusalemDay, a holiday dedicated to the reunification of the city 52 years ago in the Six-Day War.
Though this occasion is celebrated across the country today, the origins of the holiday were more controversial…

Recently, #Israel brought home the body of Sgt. First Class Zachary Baumel, after he went missing in action for 37 years during the first Lebanon war. Over the years, Israel has lost 175 fallen soldiers.
We pray for the safe return home of each & everyone of them.
On Thursday we will celebrate 71 years of independence.
This evening & tomorrow we remember those who made it possible - the men & women who have fallen defending 🇮🇱 & those killed in terror attacks since the formation of the State of Israel.
We will always remember them 🇮🇱🕯
23,741 soldiers have died protecting their homes, and 3,150 people have fallen victim to terror seeking to destroy Israel.
On Yom Ha'Zikaron, we remember each and every person who gave their life for Israel. May their memories be a blessing.🕯
Last week on Holocaust Memorial Day, we remembered the cost of not having a state.
Today, on Memorial Day for our Fallen Soldiers, we remember the price we pay to have one.
In the beginning,
there was lust.
Out of lust, God
emerged in flames.
Lust
is God’s nature.
Everything God creates
is in God’s nature.
Whoever gets more
of God’s nature –
a teardrop more –
becomes an artist, a poet.
One more drop –
a murderer.

📌''Yiddish poet Malka Heifetz Tussman seemed to have known a thing or two about lust-a subject she describes in her writings as being a part of God’s very nature.''
The American #Yiddish poets of the early 20th century hovered between Torah observance and secularism, and between different social values - with #feminism often playing a major role in their work.

“I hope both sides will take a real look at it, the Israeli side and the Palestinian side, before any unilateral steps are made,” he said. “I hope they will look at it and suss it and see if they do believe that this is a pathway for a better future.”
"If you say two state, it means one thing to the Israelis and one thing to the Palestinians, so we said let’s just not say it, let’s just work on the details of what it means," Kushner said. https://t.co/MkNIlEZ2vX
