Pre-Requisite knowledge, often overlooked, is the key that opens the door to new learning. Turns compartmentalised "Lessons" into "learning" that has a hierarchical, sequential, narrative structure

@Eintrachtrob Looks like it should be a minimum AP1 regardless of school size. Same systems have to be built, same number of subjects have to roll out AACs regardless of school size. As an AP2 role, this is a joke
@MuinteoirChris While I agree Christopher, I think a massive issue is the price gouging fuel suppliers. Given their behavior, I have very little doubt that whatever duty cut savings that would be achieved by these protests will be absorbed by them and prices will be back within a fortnight.
IT'S BACK
The CogSciSci conference is the absolute highlight of my year, and this year's theme is especially good. If you are a science teacher (or generalist) interested in the application of cognitive science to real classrooms, check it out 👇

ICYMI: I have restarted blogging
I think the blogs I've written are at least as good as anything I wrote on the old blog, but have a fraction of the hits (unsurprisingly). If you're interested, please do subscribe and share 🙏🙏

I simply refuse to ever vote for someone who doesn’t think prison is the answer for violent criminals.
A ludicrously unserious and dangerous person to have in power that will zombie walk society into the depths of living hell.
People are terrible judges of their own learning.
There are many things we should listen to our students' opinions on. Whether they think we are good at teaching is not one of them.
@adamboxer1@AlexJQuigley You can't. Our coursework in Ireland is going like this now, where scientific investigations worth 40 % are going assessed by these types of rubrics. There is little to distinguish between categories except subjective opinion
Children know who lowers the bar. They seek them out, it feels easier, safer, less demanding. Some adults even enjoy it. But that’s not kindness. It’s harmful. Leaders need to call them out.
@campbellclaret Be honest Alastair, every single other one of his other views that you "strongly disagree with" are exactly the same situation as this one. You saw an out of context clip or heard your mates saying he's Hitler and you made your mind up. People need to watch long format content.
A white supremacist who called for gays to be stoned & lampooned black people as having low brain power. He also regularly said that black Americans had it better when they were slaves owned by wealthy white landowners.
As conservatives, we requested a minute of silence in the European Parliament to honor Charlie Kirk. The left, calling themselves democrats, naturally refused. They are the same everywhere… Even in the face of death, they are incapable of showing human compassion. Therefore, I will organize an exhibition in the European Parliament commemorating Charlie Kirk. His legacy will bear fruit…

I know some of you want to do the kumbaya thing. You want to say that the celebration of Charlie’s death is only happening on the fringes. I’m sorry but that’s just not true. They jeered and heckled him in CONGRESS yesterday. The left wants us dead. That is the mainstream view. It just is. It’s the truth. They couldn’t be any clearer about it. Stop lying to yourself. Face the facts, and act accordingly.
I’m shocked, disturbed, and saddened by the news of Charlie Kirk’s murder.
Free speech, open debate, and even disagreement are the foundations of any healthy society - when those values are threatened, we ALL lose - no matter where you stand.
Today my thoughts are with Charlie’s family and friends ❤️
