Pusha T’s music isn’t about coke. It’s about cutthroat discernment. He doesn’t like people. The drug talk is just the surface layer. It’s basically the upscale version of 1997 Jay
@BrianZisook what they don’t usually mention too is that you have to recoup off of your percentage of the splits… question: do artists still negotiate escalations (royalty increases) to recoup faster if a record or album is performing well?
@BrianZisook if the artist split is the 60% portion, then yes it takes 500k. however, if the artist split is the 40% then they’ll have to generate 750k to recoup the 300k fronted.
@Geohgetthatwrk i’m intrigued! i love your take on music being utilized (and/or exploited) as a commodity in the US. elaborate more b/c i completely understand. i think the artist community here on X deserves to know how to optimize their brand in regards to music being used as background noise
@BrianZisook with early stages of AI being implemented into the industry, what turn of the wheel do you think the *aesthetic* of robotics will have to do with the actual sonics/scene of music? if it will at all (theme, pop culture, societal impact)
