🐱 no matter what kind of project it is, whether the character has a personality similar to my own or one that’s completely different, there’s always a lot of preparation that needs to be done beforehand

that includes.. figuring out whether I should open up my heart and let the character in, or whether I should step into the character’s heart..

they’re two different approaches, but I think they ultimately achieve the same thing, like I have to do alot of work beforehand, for eg learning abt the character’s backstory, the environment they grew up in and how their personality came to be the way it is

and honestly I really enjoy this whole preparation process.. whether it’s discussing things with the director, looking for ppl who remind me of the character, or even (observing) the ppl around me

bc I feel that the more work I put in during the preparation stage, when the moment comes to start filming, I can truly let go of everything I’ve thought abt, everything I’ve set up for myself and carried as a burden.. and truly become that character
