The ultimate problem with the concept of leadership in Africa is that it is interpreted almost exclusively as authority and power, rarely as responsibility. In developed countries, governance systems and rule of law are supreme & must be respected. In Africa, systems bow to egos.
"The truth only came to light because of the work of a private citizen. His name is Alex Onyia. He is not a government official. He is not a regulator. He is not on the JAMB board... But he did what the head of the exam body refused to do".

The days of building structures that insurgents can destroy are over. My philanthropy is now for empowering our people to defend themselves and their future. We must invest in lives, not just walls.
For over two decades, we’ve endured cycles of violence that are not mere clashes, but coordinated attempts at the annihilation of our people. Let us call it what it is genocide, fueled by a land-grabbing agenda, masked as farmer-herder disputes.
These atrocities didn’t begin with me, nor with the past Governors.
But together, we must be the generation that ends it.
I have heard the cries of our people. I have visited the graves, the camps, the broken homes. Mr. President himself called me personally to express his concern. Since then, we’ve been working tirelessly day and night to find solutions. But government alone cannot fix this. We need you. We need all hands on deck.
I did not come into office just to govern. I came with a mission to break the chains of poverty and help our people rise into prosperity. But how can we build schools when children are running from bullets? How can we develop agriculture when farmers are displaced from their land?
I do not stand before you today as a ruler, but as a servant. A servant of the Plateau agenda. A servant of our shared future.
Together, we must restore peace. Together, we will.
This prize is dedicated to my former and current research team at @bengurionu. Thanks to all the amazing collaborators and funders.

*Letter to the Nigerian Senate*
The Petition of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan Must Be Independently Investigated and Openly Discussed in a Public Hearing that the Accused Does Not Preside.
Two Demands:
1. Swiftly Appoint an Independent Investigator on the Petition of Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan. Cc: @icpcnigeria
2. Elevate the status of the proceedings on Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan by the Ethics and Privileges Committee into a Public Hearing for full transparency and disclosure.
Our National Assembly @nassnigeria which comprises the @NGRSenate and @HouseNGR belongs to the Nigerian People and not to politicians of any stripe and status.
This is why the National Assembly is called a Public Institution.
No individual nor collection of individuals and their groups can capture a Public Institution and use to their personal benefit or advantage.
Whenever a situation as the one involving Senators @NatashaAkpoti and @Senator_Akpabio occurs, the Lawmakers must understand the Nigerian public want transparency and full disclosure.
Dismissing a serious accusation against the Senate President just like the Senators irresponsibly did yesterday is a Democratic Aberration.
It cannot stand. Never.
What happened yesterday in the Senate Chamber where a Senate President presided over a grave matter involving him, was farcical and a blot on our Democracy.
It is in our Public Interest that Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan’s petition be urgently given the seriousness it deserves to defend the institutional integrity of our Senate.
Act correctly now, @NGRSenate !✍🏾✍🏾✍🏾
New Paper in Journal of Membrane Science.
Working together with @TheElimelechLab, we contributed to understanding monovalent/divalent ion selectivity in #electrodialysis.

The message has to return to Christ crucified. The focus has to return to Christ glorified. The temple court must be cleansed of merchants and fx traders.
We're thrilled to introduce our Facilitators and Speakers for the She Code Africa Summit Watch-Party hands-on workshop and masterclass: Ritmwa Bewarang, Facilitator for our mid-level session on Data Storytelling.
I shared part of my MSc. research on process design for tertiary effluent reverse osmosis (RO) desalination at the EuroMembrane 2024 Conference in the historically beautiful city of Prague, Czech Republic.
Many thanks to my advisor, Prof. Oded Nir @NirWaterLab for his mentorship and for providing me with a platform at this early stage of my career, and to the Zuckerberg Institute for Water Research (ZIWR) @bidrBGU for the financial support.

Tribalism is a global disease. The western world’s blessing is that they were able, using knowledge, innovation, powerful aspirational ideals, and strong institutions to overcome and break through to prosperity. This was driven by visionary political leadership by men of ideas.
New paper in @DesalinationJ ,
We modified cation exchange membranes to make them monovalent ion-selective, unlocking more sustainable brackish water #desalination. We focused on synthesis practicality and membrane stability.
