We are so close to a milestone 200 patients for the @UKRoxTrial
Patient 198 recruited today. We couldn't have achieved this without our patients, their families and our critical care and research team ❤️

We’re all incredibly proud of the work we do on SPECS and the difference it will make and has made to surgical Ca patients now and in the future
What an incredible legacy for Seth and how amazing that you’ve been able to lead it for almost 10 years. Thank you for everything you continue to do to bring attention to Pancreatic Cancer
#sethslegacy
Ten years ago in 2014 when Seth died i could not imagine looking forward to 2024 but I am .... next year the 10th anniversary of Seth's death is going to be such a good year for the 3 aims of #sethslegacy and my aim of improving bereavement care
@MStott88 @surgicalbridges ……and a 13 year stretch in clinical research, of various kinds, has taught me straightforward is best & whilst the results will inform MCT’s and future research, more importantly the patients recruited have benefitted in real time
Which is what it’s actually about
@MStott88 @surgicalbridges Imagine if Mr Subar had designed it and the person who did is doing it as an MD, not a PhD
Aside from those points, we didn’t look at CT’s or USS, we did however look at DXA body composition, muscle metabolomics, cytokines, QoL
As a pilot study, a RCT has worked brilliantly
@MStott88 @surgicalbridges You said we need to do ‘…more science, collaboratively’
I’m pointing out that’s exactly what we do at RBH, along with the anaesthetic studies I deliver, whilst one of our team delivers a similar amount of ICU studies
So about 30 studies between 2 of us, which is no mean feat
