@BravoMomma119 I would use a product called Naval Jelly Rust Remover. It’s made by Loctite. It should take off nearly all of the rust. And then, you should be good to go for painting. If you’re using spray paint, I would use Rustoleum brand. I’ve had really good luck with their paints.
