@Elizabe13014545@ARNRCPNB Autism is a spectrum. Autistic children are all very different and we should view each (neurodiverse and neurotypical) child as an individual. Just because one child is ready to use the toilet does not mean another child will be. Such comparisons are unfair and unhelpful 😢
@kate_rackham You are an inspiration. To be going through all this and you're still fighting the good fight. I can't imagine how hard this must be. I just can't. Thinking of you all xxx
@PieCorbett@MsGHist Protein first, veggies, pulses (not baked beans though) lots of sugar free fluids. Stress makes you gain weight - I'm a walking example 🤣 I watched a guy recently on YouTube who said to remember- it's normal to be a little hungry, it's abnormal to be full. Helped me a bit x
Here’s my payslip as a first year doctor in 2005, next to a first year doctor colleague’s in 2023. 18 years later, their take home salary is less than mine was. I lived for free in hospital accommodation and had a fraction of their student loan.

@dbees19 I personally loved my stamps which I used to remind the children about full stops, finger spaces etc. They weren't developmentally ready to read feedback and they acted as a symbol for next steps. I'm not against stamps. Anything to lighten the load is welcomed 👍🏻
@dbees19 @MrDPrimary That makes sense. I only commented as there have been questions raised about why we write VF in books (instead of just giving VF), who benefits from it - if it's just to provide evidence we're doing our job then it's not helping children learn. But it makes sense how you use it.
@dbees19 @MrDPrimary If SLT insist on VF written in books, then the stamps are an excellent idea. The issue of having to evidence 'VF given' in books is another discussion entirely, and one to be taken up with SLT.
@emmccatt Absolutely! There are role models that we all look to for advice, ideas and inspiration (including you!), but teachers shouldn't be treated like celebrities - they don't do the job simply for recognition and status, but out of a genuine desire to help others.
If you're still early in your teaching career and thinking of quitting, please consider trying a new school first. It's so sad to read about some of your experiences and I want you to know that there are some brilliant schools out there.
Your family will mourn you when you are gone, work would be thinking about advertising for your replacement on the same day… make sure you’re investing your time and effort where it actually matters.
