@psychgeist52 as winnicot said, it is not that regression is always pathological, but that the therapist is often unable to "take in" the regression and the dependency that comes along with it. therapists are often not psychologically able to connect with their pts,but blame the pts instead

@psychgeist52 the pts feelings towards and perceptions of the therapist often sheds light on the unconscious of the therapist. therapists reject the pt's perception of them when they are ashamed of what the pt senses in them, which is why they react by shaming and pathologizing the client

@MarkLRuffalo i said this to my therapist. he disagrees that he is shaming me in any way similar to the way my family has. By "good and productive conversation," do you mean the therapist then tries to convince the patient that their perception is inaccurate?
