I am the bearer of very sad news, I'm afraid. My very good friend Bryan Cooney passed away earlier this evening after a long illness. He put up one hell of a fight and displayed remarkable courage. Bryan was a distinguised journalist and a real pal I'll miss greatly in many ways.
