@copperCity17 I agree. My point is more that this behavior creates the effect, not really giving an opinion on the behavior itself.
Ideally everyone can be perfectly informed of what they'd might like but we just don't and never can live in that world

And I guess a third would be that audiences for a franchise generally grow so a % of the new audience only has WoM.
