@codohertynews NGOs should welcome CCS which is like weightloss for an obese person (cutting reductions is stopping the weight gain part, not taking it off). NGOs are killing CCS because they don’t get this. No CCS = no reduction in greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.

@HannahEDaly It’d use maybe a billion litres of HVO a year, likely made from palm oil or palm oil falsely labelled as used cooking oil, certified by Europe/Ireland’s blind eye law makers. But more likely it’ll burn diesel, with the HVO licence the formality to keep it open.

@DomGadaletaMD @michaeldrisc Who doesn’t love H2. comes down to $ as H2 cars need more electricity than EVs, to split water into H2 in first place. It gets turned back into electricity in the engine. Also infrastructure and inertia etc. There’s a saying “hydrogen is the fuel of the future and always..”

@BobFlavin @TodaywithClaire UK website only refers to 2011 ACEA doc which only reports car maker legal positions, not actual tech facts. Articles are endless rehashes, showing how little research goes into them. Engines are same when it comes to fuel chemistry. E10 anxiety is inflicted needlessly.

@TodaywithClaire @BobFlavin E10 petrol is suited to petrol engines of all makes, models and ages, as amply demonstrated by the billion engines run on E10 in the US, Europe and Brazil over 40 years. Ireland won't have problems either.

- E5 will NOT be available after June 1st in any service station
- All cars manufactured since 2011 are compatible with E10, however, there is no reason to believe that older cars will have any issues based on the experience of the US, Brazil and all the main EU countries
