Finished the #1YearRetirement trip around the world with my wife, now back working as a communications consultant. New Dad. Aspiring old coot.

[JimDC @JimDC]

It's good to check in with other independent consultants on how they do their job - lots of really useful insights into freelance work here from this @MelEdits podcast episode, who wrote about my #1YearRetirement a million years ago.

[JimDC @JimDC]

@ayesharascoe Like everybody else I had no idea you were using your hands like this, but now when I hear your broadcasts I'll be picturing you as the Morning Edition Maestro.

He was swept out to sea for five hours. A broken fishing pole saved him. https://t.co/vHx7FfRapa

I stand by my Brewster's Millions take from last year - each week it becomes more real: https://t.co/EK1fAH6zjk

[JimDC @JimDC]

So maybe Elon is in a Brewster’s Millions situation?

Figuring out is a plastic product is recyclable shouldn't be this hard. https://t.co/Rw1PofNyiZ

What an inspiring conversation, indeed!

[Erik L Olsen @ErikLOlsen1]

Had a great conversation with @RepSpanberger in DC. Diving deep into @commongroundcom's Common Grounder commitments never ceases to inspire.

[JimDC @JimDC]

@RepYoungKim @commongroundcom It was great to meet you in person @RepYoungKim! Thank you for your service and your continued work to finding common ground.

[JimDC @JimDC]

@Brandon_JThomas That view tho. My view is of alleyway trashcans. You win.

Gifted link -My latest which will be today' @nytimes "Great Read" at noon. It will be in Sunday’s paper in print. (@nytimesmetro & national edition.) Thanks @WmFerguson for fine edit.
Proud to know Malachy McCourt. Do enjoy and share if you see fit☘️. https://t.co/GIeXR184TQ

Tough questions raised here - anyone who has lived in a DC apartment can identify with one side or the other. The lede is good, and the last line is even better. Kudos ⁦@MerylKornfield⁩ https://t.co/H8pJorCguW

@DavidAFrench Congrats @DavidAFrench! I love that your unique perspective will be a part of the NYT opinion pages.

I told a client last week “if the journalists leave Twitter, I’ll probably leave too.” So maybe I’m on my way out kinda maybe?

[JimDC @JimDC]

No offense to you, but this site’s content algorithm has been objectively worse every time I’ve been on for the last six weeks.

[JimDC @JimDC]

I love everything about this story - the teens, obvi. But also writing by @AlexVadukul, the decision by NYT to include this story, and the concept itself. (No it's not lost on me that I'm lauding this on social media.)

[JimDC @JimDC]

"Being in this club reminds me we’re all living on a floating rock and that it’s all going to be OK." These high schoolers are more grounded than 90% of adults I know (including me). Where does one get such wisdom at that age? https://t.co/fJwzE2oAmf

[Michael Smerconish @smerconish]

How did members of Congress who find @commongroundcom fare in the midterms? @BruceABond joins me back @SXMPOTUS @SIRIUSXM to discuss https://t.co/rOFTRufmBF

[JimDC @JimDC]

@MatthewCappucci When you said in your update yesterday you were sounding like a movie preview announcer I was really hoping you'd go all in and say something like "In a world ... where highs will be in the 40s ..."

[JimDC @JimDC]

@jcrutchmer Thanks Josh, my brain was running low on ideas for nightmares.

[JimDC @JimDC]

@jcrutchmer Also here to ask if you'd recommend "Kiss My Slice Pizza Cafe."
