One of the things people miss re wealth gap is where the money is. They think these billionaires are swimming in gold coins like Scrooge McDuck but the vast, vast majority of their wealth is tied to stock market going up a ton (see table). Musk, Page, it's 100%. Most is 95% or more. It's like being house rich, cash poor. This is why stock donations are arguably the best, quickest bang for buck in combatting gap, and it helps financial literacy to boot.
EXCLUSIVE: Elon Musk came to Donald Trump with the plan to throttle Ukraine’s use of SpaceX’s Starshield satellite internet network, sources have told the Telegraph.
The tech billionaire made the proposal during the US President’s row with Volodymyr Zelensky over strikes on Russian oil refineries.
‘The reality is that they were both in it,’ a senior source said of Musk’s and Trump’s involvement.
But after a night of carnage in Kyiv caused by the slowdown, Musk was alarmed about the possibility of adverse consumer reaction in Europe.
The SpaceX boss then proceeded to tweet, blaming the US administration, and ultimately, President Trump for authorising the slowdown.
‘He tweeted out that he was innocent and that it was the US administration that did it,’ the source said.
@karol No, they definitely remember. But what’s more immediate for most Americans is trying to survive through inflation while seeing unprecedented levels of corruption.
@DavidMastio@karol What about “media personalities” :)
I tend to think the press is probably more credible than paid influencers.
However, the paid influencers are a much better signal. It’s about relative desperation.
In all the discussion of fracturing support for Israel, not one person mentioned the elephant in the room—American right-wing influencers getting paid $$ to unquestioningly push anti-Israel, “almost genocide” propaganda. It’s all designed to undermine Western hegemony, and many are too stupid to see it. Or just prefer to blame Israelis.
@karol@davidamilstein Nothing to see here. Just Mark Levin’s son, who is the apparent handler of the US ambassador to Israel , who allegedly invited convicted spy, Jonathan Pollard to hang with the ambassador. There’s just no way he would have any motivation to alter any reports on his road. #noway
Asked about WSJ reporting on Kimberly Guilfoyle—which includes her texts—Rubio turns his fire on the press: “I’m not playing this game with you.”
“I don’t even know if it’s true or not true.”
“You guys somehow walk around thinking that because some source told you something and you reported it, it’s the gospel. It’s not the gospel. It’s not the gospel for me.”
