I saw the inscrutable movie “The Phoenician Scheme” tonight,
because it was blast-furnace hot and since Terri Gross from NPR’s “Fresh Air” idolizes the director, then got out to a riotous Traverse City Front Street Saturday night, and found out Trump bombed Iran.
It’s inscrutable

I always despised the Taliban, but I really hated them when in 2001 I heard of how they were blowing up the standing Buddhas.

Do you know that scene at the end of “Animal House”, where the Kevin Bacon character, an elite fraternity pledge and ROTC reservist, is trying to control the Faber Homecoming Parade chaos?:
“Remain calm! All is well!”
Then he gets flattened.
Stock futures are resembling that.

This is kind of like that.
Schumer, I think, erroneously used the term “Hobson’s choice”: he didn’t have a take it or leave it choice, but rather a dilemma - choosing between two bad options.
A dilemma is common in legislatures - a Hobson’s choice is typical in TV game shows.

As a child I thought it a crazy history.
“You have to learn from history,” [in re. Gaza.]
I was driving down Cliff Street tonight, and there was the Main Street DQ lighted sign - the marquee sign hasn’t even yet been changed from last autumn.
It’s open again.
In a Project 2025 winter, our Project 2026 campaign is coming.
“If winter comes, can spring be far tonight?”

This was a month ago, after the MI House adjourned because of absence of quorum, just before Winter Solstice. It's only 4 or so minutes long, so I hope you can watch to the end.
How I've advocated they act is how I hope you'll act, and I'll act, during the next 4 years. (Part 3)

“And as I walk on through troubled times…
…Where are the strong - and who are the trusted?…
‘Cause each time I feel [harmony] slippin’ away, just makes me wanna cry:
“What’s so funny ‘bout peace, love, and understanding?””
I wish I could be more like Pres. Jimmy Carter.
