@aboutasteph It was ruined a long time again when they started micro managing. It's like they are just making more rules for the sake of making more rules.
@hasumpstuffedup@PasVizzari How is it absurd ? The game has become massively over officiated compared to the one I grew up with. It almost seems like they are creating rules for the sake of creating rules. It's not so much how the rules are being interpreted, it's why they are in the game in the first place
@jvscricket@tommorris32@7AFL@1116sen And the fact that he has the worst win % in AFL history for coaches with at least 200 games coached has nothing to do with it
@aboutasteph Brisbane made the mistake of hanging onto Voss as coach for too long. Carlton shouldn't make the same mistake. He's gone at the end of the season anyway. Cut your losses and try to salvage the season with fresh ideas and tactics.
@ChickDill Even if there was no push, the ball was way too high to ever be touched before it crossed the goal line. The game has become a tikki touchwood over officiated mess....and it needs to stop
@benjiman1983@Outspoken_Sheep@Shrappy71 Just having possession, no. Getting possession, turning, and taking 2 steps to run away from the opponent (i.e evading) yes. Right there in the rules. After seeing you are a Pies supporter your opinions are pretty much moot since you can't be unbiased Hope the knuckles heal soon
@spissy_c The juggle is irrelevant. He gained possession when he picked up the ball from the ground before he juggled. Based on the laws if he's evading an opponent or is balanced and steady, and has possession that is classed as prior. Also took 2 steps after regaining the juggle.
@benjiman1983@Outspoken_Sheep@Shrappy71 Oh look. The 2026 rules below state exactly what I pointed out in my tweet. Best you stay quiet and be thought of a fool, than speak up and remove all doubt.
Whoops....too late. NEXT.........
@benjiman1983@Outspoken_Sheep@Shrappy71 By the letter of the law, if he has possession and trying to evade, or is balanced and steady then it is. The bobble is irrelevant, he had possession the second he picked up the ball. NEXT....
@parklanedriving@hasumpstuffedup The second he picked up the ball he is in possession until he either loses it or disposes of it. That was before the bobble.
@ringster0@officialzilf The thing is the rule for prior doesn't state clear possession or bobbled ball, just possession. To be classed as having prior you need to be steady and balanced or evading/fending opponent while in possession. Both could apply here, making it clear there was prior. 100% HTB.
