A foreign office minister has caused outrage after implying Jeremy Corbyn used antisemitic language while speaking out against the UK’s arming of the Israeli military.
Lincoln MP Hamish Falconer was speaking during an urgent question in the House of Commons about the proposed expansion of the illegal E1 settlement in the West Bank, which would see Israel build more than 3,000 homes there.
Falconer criticised the E1 project, which he said would divide the area “in two” and “mark a serious breach of international law”.
He confirmed that ministers were “in discussions” over a ban on goods from Israeli West Bank settlements. But Corbyn, the Your Party parliamentary leader, said such a measure would be toothless without also stemming the flow of weapons and military cooperation to Israel.
“It is Israel's strategy, Israel's plan, and Israel's determination we are up against. Merely condemning them for this occupation of E1 will achieve nothing,” Corbyn said.
“There has to be a policy of stopping all arms trade and military cooperation of any sort with Israel until they end this settlement policy. Anything less than that simply will be just hand-wringing that the Israeli government will just ignore.”
In response, Falconer said MPs needed to be “really careful in our language”.
By far the greatest threat to free speech in the US comes from Israel loyalists who are demanding censorship (and already have imposed it) in order to shield Israel and its supporters from criticism, all in the cynical name of "anti-semitism."
Here, @JakeAuch (D-MA) demands it:
The people of Gaza deserve to return to their stolen homes inside what is now Israel. Because Israel won't allow that, UNRWA has helped keep Palestinians alive in Gaza, all while protecting their status as refugees. This declaration from the "Board of Peace" continues a joint US-Israeli campaign to strip Palestinians of their refugee status, and their right to live in peace and freedom.
“The situation is getting worse day by day.”
A university student in Gaza has highlighted the reality behind the so-called ceasefire agreement there.
Israel has continued committing massacres on an almost daily basis since agreeing to end hostilities in October last year, while denying the entry of food, medicine and other essential supplies to the strip as part of its genocidal blockade.
A UN commission found last year that Israel has used airstrikes, shelling, burning and controlled demolitions to damage and destroy more than 90% of Gaza’s school and university buildings.
Ron Paul said the same thing about the causes of 9/11, and he did so repeatedly, including on a nationally televised GOP primary debate stage.
He then got more than 2 million votes in the GOP primary and was repeatedly re-elected to his House seat.
This has likely already happened. US citizens were probably targeted by US citizens in the Israeli military. I raised this repeatedly including at State Dept and was immediately cut off with brazen lies. I.e., State Dept was covering it up. @decensorednews video 🙏
The latest Lebanon peace deal has about as much promise as the Gaza peace plan that's brought more military strikes, humanitarian crisis, displacement, expanding occupation & over 1000 civilian deaths.
This is John Fetterman. He chased down an unarmed Black man in his neighborhood and pointed a shotgun at his head until police arrlived only to find out the man was just a jogger.
He is a violent racist. Of course he supports Israel's genocide of Gaza.
