@friesensunmedia@rickloewen Columnists are storytellers but I only remember him being a curmudgeon.
He pontificated negativity in his column, which is his prerogative, but I think I saw Pat in the dressing room twice the whole time he covered the Jets so we didn’t respect him.
@rickloewen@friesensunmedia Partially true. Steve Rooney happened to see Pat’s hat come down. He knew it was in the penalty box so as soon as he got on the ice he took a slashing penalty, raced to the box, and had every intention of shredding it but it had already been sent back up.
@rickloewen@friesensunmedia I entered the press box to see Pat wearing his cowboy hat during the national anthem so I hit it off his head from behind on the way to my seat. I didn’t stop to talk to him. It went out the window down to the ice below. The linesman picked it up and put it in the penalty box.

@mahrukh2872@Lishiifv If this is a play on words, then only 2 (the couple).
If this is a math play, 2 (the couple)+5 sons+(7 sisters x 3 babies)=2+5+21=28
@EricLDaugh Look in the mirror for the person paying for it in the long run. As of August 2026, the U.S. government debt surpassed $40 trillion, of which $7.81 trillion (or 10.6%) has accumulated in the 19 months since DT 47 took office.
Stephen Harper on Alberta independence:
"I spent a good part of my early political career involved in the debate over Quebec independence. That was driven by a large minority of the population who genuinely want a separate country, regardless of the cost. I do not believe the downsides of that experience are fully understood in Alberta.
"Over two generations of Quebec politics were spent debating the goal of the separatists. Families were divided, and friends were lost. The more serious the challenge became, the worse the economic impact became. In the process, Montreal’s two-centuries’ long position as the commercial centre of Canada was permanently lost to Toronto."
