@PocoPipe Sometime in grade school (42or more years ago) I started answering to "but the weather was supposed to..." with "... morally speaking, you mean?"
The Trump claim that the valuations are subjective reminds me of Kierkegaard’s Truth is Subjectivity”. If SK’s line means anything, the falsity must be subjective too. Lying about subjective matters can still be fraud. Not much of a defence. https://t.co/o5RgBfi5up
@DomBooth19 Fair. There is the old paradox that the best puns are the ones that really terrible. And “risible” is probably hyperbole, anyway. You did a good MBM; thanks
@DomBooth19 there I was, about to respond to your assessment of Peter Oh’s pun with “nought for me, Clive.” But before I [can be arsed to] get to it, you publish the risible “Clement start for Philippe”
@PocoPipe And you probably should be recognized too for your musical service; that is a completely different other thing, I know, but another social good.

That was a sobering read. Haven’t been in touch with Paul since high school, but remember him fondly.
@Reprieve I don’t have such a long and deep relationship to NUFC as Peter. I guess I have always had some sense of separation between team and ownership, and yet, and yet, the flip side of sportswashing is that every goal is stained by the Saudis’ vicious kingdom.
NYTimes has an article, what to call Twitter after the name change. Recently heard “Twitter-X”. Seems about right: suggesting the pending past tense of its ontological manifestation.
Sam Kerr declares herself fit for Matildas’ must-win World Cup clash against Canada
Good news about her health.
Hoping: she and Christine Sinclair both get hat-tricks. https://t.co/lR4pLPTDy4
@John_Ashdown “Carlisle have only gone and beaten Stockport on penalties to earn promotion to League One. That means John Ashdown will be with us shortly.”
Congratulations John & Carlisle!
@petrahaden Generally, living life in Canadian English, I avoid using the distinction: don’t want to come across pompous twit, inviting: “Well, excuuuuse me!”
@petrahaden Hee-hee. A few decades ago, travelling through Montreal, I had time and the notion to see a movie. Looked in the yellow pages under “theatre”, and learned that “cinema” was what I needed: “theatres” [in Quebec] are for people on stages.
