WSP announces 29-year-old Tara-Marysa Guting was killed in the line of duty, responding to a crash on Highway 509 in Tacoma. She was hit by a vehicle while she was outside her cruiser. The driver stopped and has been cooperative, per WSP Chief John Batiste.

While covering weather in Skagit County, we heard about a landslide in the 7200 block of Lake Shannon Road. We ascended the dark, winding, muddy mountain road but turn around about a half mile before the slide due to these conditions. Level 2 “Get Set” evacuation in place.
