@Pott_Shrigley_ As a teenager I stuck a tiny flat magnet under the metal hand rail that ran parallel to the underpass road (on the left of that photo) in 1977. I used to check on it from time to time and it was still there in the mid 80s 🤣.
@Blades_Mad Trying to explain to my kids (who are in their 30s) about our history in the playoffs even against B City. This was pre the EPL and Wembley finals. Loved Colin Morris. And one of the Shutts scored against us! We owe them one!
@Pott_Shrigley_ OMG @Pott_Shrigley_ you have done it again. I’ve mentioned in your posts before that we lived on Daniel Hill Street in the 1970s. It was just round the corner from Harold Street. This could very well be our actual back yard. 🥲
@Pott_Shrigley_ Once again @Pott_Shrigley_ you evoke life memories. Lived here as a really young child on Low Edges Road before being moved to the slums of Daniel Hill Street, Walkley. What a contrast. Never really understood the reason but it shaped our lives. 🥲
@johnshuttlewrth Oof I’m originally from Sheffield but now live in one of those surrounding villages of Nottingham @johnshuttlewrth. Really enjoyed the show last night. Went to see Peter Kay two weeks ago. I won’t give it away but the ending of your show was just as spectacular! OOF!!!!
@Pott_Shrigley_ Great pics as usual @Pott_Shrigley_ Like most kids from Park, these lads probably eventually went to Norfolk School up City Road when they were a bit older, same as me. I was 6 when this picture was taken, these are a bit older so they are probably about 70 years old now.
@sweeney_archive All the best guv. I was hit out of the blue with a serious health scare in the summer so I know how you feel. Look after yourself everyone. “Drink down to the label with you?”
@Pott_Shrigley_ Seemed to spend half my life on the 71 back in the 1970s living just off POW Road. However very rarely travelled the in Darnall direction, generally always went Norfolk Park direction. Always seemed to wait an eternity at Manor Top.
@Pott_Shrigley_ The guy in the foreground could easily be my Grandad. Same build and demeanour. Facially similar too. And he worked in the steelworks (didn’t they all) in this area.
