Growing up in a mining village I saw what the proper left looked like.

And it was mostly good.

But we were being left behind globally and we needed Thatcher to drag us screaming and kicking back to a level of prominence.

Today Reform are closer to ‘old Labour’ than many would like to admit.

New Labour have no connection with working folk anymore and the polls prove my point.

And the ‘left’ in Britain is now just a synonym for the Muslim Bloc and pro Gaza progressives…

So I’ll say this…

Characterised through a modern lens as being on the ‘right’ I think that through a historical lens Reform are on the left.
