Sen. Bill Cunningham, D-Chicago, tells me that Bears President Kevin Warren called him this morning and told him they were putting out the statement about moving forward in Hammond. But... Cunningham added this: "He also said he looks forward to continuing discussions with me."
UPDATE: sources familiar with the negotiations say alternative ideas to the PILOT mechanism (payment in lieu of taxes) are being discussed. "We're trying to keep the Bears in the building," Cunningham says. Whew. This is gonna be a more exciting finish than one of last years Bears-Packers games
It’s been such a bustling week, and the @BlockClubCHI team documented so much! See our top photos here:

Metra will be expanding both weekday and weekend schedules on its Rock Island Line beginning Monday, June 1. The new schedules will significantly expand weekend service, address gaps in weekday service to meet customer requests, and change stopping patterns on some off-peak trains to better reflect ridership patterns and travel times. When the Garden Club of Morgan Park started a century ago, annual dues were 30 cents and the group was limited to 20 women.
Like the gardens the group has planted over the years, the club hasn’t stopped growing.

My last story for Block Club is about the city's oldest bowling alley — in the basement of a Northwest Side catholic school.
Immaculate Conception's alley has survived 102 years with students as pinsetters and a Monday league still chasing a perfect game.
