Photographer and educator living in Fort Langley British Columbia Canada. I shoot digital and film. Digital: Fuji X Series, Film: Hasselblad, Leica and others
@AnnyMauss This post and photography is by photographer @JimSollows It's an interesting story of losing your passion for something you once loved, in this case photography. But, apparently photography was not done with him ♥️
Tina not sure if you heard the news. I was contacted by the granddaughter of the little toddler in the photo. We now know the names. She saw it in an Edmonton news paper.
A1 - I don’t know that it’s really a style but hands down the answer is wedding photography!! It killed my passion for photography. It sucked all the life and enjoyment out of photography. I put my camera in a closet and didn’t touch it again for 10 years. #photochat
Top of the morning #Photochat ers, I am John, the Specialty Photographic Retail Expert, and I acknowledge I am situated on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the Coast Salish and q̓ic̓əy̓ (Katzie), and I am looking forward to chatting about never agains today
Good morning all. Jim in Fort Langley British Columbia Canada here. I’ve been a photographer (hobbyist) for 48 years. I shoot 35mm, medium and large format film as well as digital. I love spending time in the darkroom almost as much as shooting. #photochat
@rory_garforth Just reply by laughing so hard you start tearing up. Then finally you regain your composure and reply “Oh my that was funny, I haven’t had a laugh like that in a long time!!”
@MattAngleyPhoto @Kodak Depends on the film. I shoot Ilford mostly which has very little curl but I've shot others like Rollei that curls like crazy. As long as you have a decent negative holder it's not an issue.
#Photochat A5: Technically was taken on the 31st, but just got back the development yesterday. Out with @JimSollows in -14c for the early morning light.
I'm restoring an 1870 Watson & Sons plate camera. I'm in the process of fabricating a walnut back for it that will take a conventional 4x5 film holder.
#Photochat A3: the ability to let go of the BS and trolling online forums for photography, and not have the urge to force choke people through the screen
My entire colour darkroom was free. In fact it came from Bridge Studios where it was the on screen darkroom used by the X-Files series. My enlarger was actually used by Mulder and Skully :-)
@JimSollows I was very blessed to get a "free to a good home" enlarger last year, Besler 67. I have it set up in the space underneath my stairs. No running water, but enough space to expose, dev, stop and fix.
