@RANK10YGO They are quite the mysterious type. I'm going to be honest, I had no idea this was the original text, but overexplaining the summoning condition has a certain charm.
@hazelthejoy For modern yugioh I'd say a consistent, simple combo that is resistant to interruptions and space for a good amount of non-engine. Things like swordsoul, ryzeal pure, millenium, Odion. When the core concept is easy to grasp, you can focus more on what your opponent is doing.
@XCivinskas@ygorganization Both players take the damage each turn for all xyz on field. The new monster that can prevent only you from getting burned for a turn. The 1st effect mostly reads "your opponent can only summon from the ED twice per turn", you should not be too affected by it if you play the deck
@ygorganization They went in a really roundabout way to still give this card a hand-rip. Also, this card's effects referencing all 3 of the original ice barrier dragons and being named a "descendant" is unintentionally funny, because it implies that they were, like, a throuple?
@ygorganization I don't always like how the full arts look, but this one really speaks to me. Effect is meh, I wonder if there is a deck where this would be genuinely useful.
@AzureSiege@Readyforduel See, that's my point. There are good targets (eg all the virtuous girls) but the respective decks don't really need this card. Plus, being a 5 water tuner feels deliberate, but to what end? It could be meant to work with ice doll, or ice barrier, but then why is it good?
@ygorganization This card is probably too niche to see regular play, but I do appreciate that they gave it a floating effect. I believe that is a design philosophy that could greatly benefit traps.
@Gnurrgard Do you keep it for your turn? A lot of modern decks set up interruptions that can be ashed, so ash is still a one for one trade, helping you beat established... (I'm coping, just let me dream)
@supreme_king_yt@ygorganization At least it's one activation per turn. So if the activation is negated you can use a 2nd one. Now, negating the effect is more likely, so this doesn't help as much, but we'll take what we can get.
@ygorganization@SoaringGlory They really are giving normal monsters a quadruple tactics talent, huh? Unfortunately, being stuck with only 1 eff per turn means this card probably isn't good enough. Still, a cool card for plant link.
Can someone explain to me why people keep assuming these cards to be the same deck as the previous Umi support? These seem to me to clearly be a new deck, with a different strategy and playstyle, but most discussion I see is about how they impact current Umi decks.
