Imagine being Amy Coney Barrett and being the mother of two adopted children from Haiti and having to explain to them why she voted to terminate Temporary Protected Status for roughly 330,000 Haitian Nationals living and working in the United States.
@justice4all01@RBReich I don’t dispute what would be good for rural communities. Living here, though, I know that voting in thier own interests is not always reliable. I heard Mamdani on the radio today pushing Workers’ Rights and focusing on the American Worker. That singular focus may work here.
MAGA cult working real hard to divert from Trumps outright surrender to Iran in the war he started and lost
with this whole pond bullshit, which he also fucked up
Easy.
He will be remembered for performing one of the greatest public services in American history: He dragged the truly brainwashed out into broad daylight.
Before Trump, a lot of people could hide behind polite words like “patriot,” “constitutional conservative,” “family values voter,” and “independent thinker.” Then Trump came along, waved a red hat around, misspelled a few words in all caps, called every inconvenient fact “fake news,” and suddenly millions of people proudly lined up to prove they would believe absolutely anything as long as he said it with enough orange confidence.
He didn’t “drain the swamp.” He drained the disguise.
He showed us exactly who would excuse corruption, defend cruelty, ignore reality, worship a billionaire as a victim, call lies “strategy,” call ignorance “common sense,” and call blind obedience “patriotism.”
So yes, Trump will be remembered.
Not for greatness.
Not for intelligence.
Not for leadership.
But for exposing just how many Americans could watch a man set the house on fire and still scream, “Best firefighter we ever had!”
