በዚህ ሳምንት ውዷ ሀገራችን በአፍሪካ ኅብረት ጉባኤ ለመታደም የሚመጡ እህት ወንድም አፍሪካዊያንን ለማስተናገድ ልቧን ከፍታ-እጆቿን ዘርግታ ትቀበላለች። እነዚህ ወዳጆቻችን የሰንደቃችንን ቀለማት የሚጋሩ፣ ኢትዮጵያን እንደነፃነት ቀንዲል የሚመለከቱ ብሎም ሀገራችን የአኅጉሩ የፖለቲካ ርዕይ የማዕዘን ድንጋይ አድርገው የሚያከብሩ ናቸው።

ኢትዮጵያ ወደር በሌለው እንግዳ ተቀባይነቷ ለምን ልትከበር እንደበቃች በአቀባበላችን እናሳያቸው። እንደቤታቸው እንዲሰማቸው እናድርግ። በክብር እንቀበላቸው። በፍቅር እናቆያቸው። ተደምረን ሰንደቃችን የሚወክለውን የአፍሪካ አንድነትን መንፈስ እና የሚያያይዘንን የወል ህልም እናክብር!

To my fellow Ethiopians,

This week, our beloved homeland opens its arms to fellow Africans attending the AU meetings. These are friends who share the colors of our flag, who see Ethiopia as a beacon of freedom, and who regard our country as a cornerstone of political vision for the continent.

Let’s show them why Ethiopia is known for its unmatched hospitality. Let’s make them feel at home, greet them with respect, and embrace them with love. Together, let’s honor the spirit of African unity that our flag represents and the shared dreams that connect us all.

In a coordinated effort, Ethiopian air power has joined to bolster the counter-terrorism operations against Khawarij elements attempting to destabilize Middle Shabelle. The @SNAForce, alongside local defence forces and with crucial support from AU partners, is decisively repelling these incursions. The rapid and substantial reinforcement from Hiiraan and Galgadud has been instrumental in this operation, demonstrating a unified and robust response.

Today, 13 October 2024, marks the culmination of a long journey toward the equitable and reasonable utilization of the waters of the Nile, with the entry into force of the Agreement on the Nile River Basin Framework (CFA).

This day will be remembered as a historic milestone in our collective efforts to foster genuine cooperation in the Nile Basin. The CFA’s entry into force strengthens our bond as a Nile family and ensures that the management and utilization of our shared water resources benefit all, for the good of all.

I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all state parties to the CFA for their unwavering commitment to advancing cooperation in our region. I also call upon the non-signatory states to join the Nile family, so that together we may achieve our shared goals of development and regional integration.
